To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what the outcome was of the Fisheries Council held in Brussels on 14 January; and if he will make a statement. [106539]

Since the Fisheries Council which met on 16–17 December succeeded in agreeing on Total Allowable Catches for 2000 there was no need for a further meeting of the Council on 14 January.
