HC Deb 28 February 2000 vol 345 c127W
Mr. Lidington

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what guidance he has given to the Immigration Service about the interpretation and enforcement of Rule 57(6) of the Immigration Rules following the Government's decision to allow students from outside the European Economic Area to work in this country without a student work permit. [111440]

Mrs. Roche

The Immigration Service has been informed of the range of part-time work a student may take without the need for Job Centre approval. There has been no change to the enforcement of paragraph 57(vi) of the Immigration Rules.
