HC Deb 19 April 2000 vol 348 c512W
Mr. Hammond

To ask the Secretary of State for Health on how many occasions, during official visits outside London, the Under-Secretary of State for Health, the hon. Member for Birmingham, Edgbaston (Ms Stuart), has met(a) trade union representatives and (b) Community Health Council representatives. [119471]

Ms Stuart

I have met representatives of trades unions, staff and Community Health Councils informally during official visits outside London. I also met with members of the Manufacturing, Science and Finance Union on 4 November 1999 and the Association of Community Health Councils for England and Wales on 22 February 2000 in London.

Both organisations have a role to play in modernising the National Health Service and I will continue to meet with their representatives as appropriate.
