HC Deb 19 October 1999 vol 336 cc555-6W
Mr. Rowlands

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what estimate he has made of the number of young people suffering from Raynaud's disease who are in receipt of the full rate of Disability Living Allowance. [94053]

Mr. Bayley

Specific information on higher rate Disability Living Allowance recipients with Raynaud's Disease is not available. Sample counts show that there are a small number of DLA recipients (possibly around 100) aged under 16 in the wider group whose principal disabling condition is peripheral vascular disease including thrombosis and claudication, but this estimate is based on numbers too small to be reliable.
