§ The Prime MinisterDavid Miliband, Geoff Mulgan and Derek Scott accompanied me for all or part of my visit to the United States of America on 4-7 February 1998. David Miliband also accompanied me on similar visits on 22 September and 8 November 1998. James Purnell accompanied the former Secretary of State for Trade and Industry during a visit to the United States on 10-16 October 1998.
Members of the Policy Unit participated in the official Ministerial programme and also separately attended meetings with US public officials. All visits were undertaken in line with the rules set out in the Ministerial Code
