§ Mrs. LiddellThere were 17,731 classes in publicly funded primary schools in Scotland in 1997. Of these, 13,052 were single-stage classes and 4,679 were composite classes. The information requested was not collected in 1996 and information for 1998 is not yet available.
From 1 July 1999 this will be a matter for the Scottish Parliament.
