HC Deb 26 July 1999 vol 336 c76W
25. Mr. McNulty

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what assessment he has made of the impact of introducing free entry for children on museum attendance. [91363]

Mr. Alan Howarth

The number of child visits at those national museums and galleries in England which adopted free entry for children from April this year is being regularly monitored. An assessment of the policy's effectiveness will be made when sufficient information is available from which to draw reliable conclusions.
