To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many people failed to attend appointments arranged for acute treatment at Barnet Hospital in 1998–99. [92365]

Data are not collected from individual hospitals, only National Health Service trusts. Barnet General Hospital is part of Wellhouse NHS Trust.

In 1997–98 there were 6,592 did not attends (DNAs) for first outpatient attendances and 19,183 DNA's for subsequent outpatient attendances arranged for acute treatment, at Wellhouse NHS Trust.

In 1998–99 there were 753 failed to attends for elective inpatient admission and 6,370 DNAs for outpatient appointments.
