To ask the Secretary of State for Health what plans he has to review the procedures for the selection of doctors to vacant general practices; and when those procedures were last revised. [92228]

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State has no current plans to review the procedures for the selection of doctors to vacant general practices.

The procedures were last revised on 10 December 1998 when The National Health Services (General Medical Services) Amendment (No. 2) Regulations 1998 were issued.
