To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will make a statement on the assistance provided by his Department to pensioners with heating bills. [63211]

For a second year we are making Winter Fuel Payments to over seven million pensioner households. The poorest pensioners received their £50 payment before Christmas, and payments to the others are presently being issued.
