My Ministers and I meet our US counterparts as and when necessary. Since 1 June 1998, there have been the following meetingsThe Secretary of State for Trade and Industry met William Daley, Commerce Secretary on 13 September 1998, (Johannesburg); The Secretary of State for Trade and Industry met Mrs. Charlene Barshefsky, US Trade Representative on 22 October 1998, (London); The Minister for Science met Dr. Neil Lane, President's Scientific Adviser, on 4-6 December 1998, (Kyoto, Japan).
