§ Mr. TownendTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what was the total cost to public funds of claims by employees and the public for compensation in respect of(a) personal injury and (b) employment protection in the last year for which figures are available. [59058]
§ Mr. StrawThere are no centrally maintained records for all these types of compensation. Delegation of personnel functions and of authority to make such awards has resulted in less central record keeping. To obtain all the information requested would require an extensive trawl of personnel records which could be done only at disproportionate cost.
