To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office if he will publish the names of those people he has appointed to public bodies since 1 May 1997, indicating the positions to which they have been appointed and whether they receive remuneration. [56821]

The public bodies for which I am responsible, as Minister for the Cabinet Office and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, are: The Civil Service Appeal Board; the Better Regulation Task Force; The Advisory Committee on Advertising and The Advisory Committee for Justice of the Peace in Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside. There have been no appointments or re-appointments to the Advisory Committee on Advertising since 1 May 1997. However, Mr. Derek Dear, an existing member of the Committee, was appointed as Chairperson on 4 March 1998 on the retirement of the previous incumbent.

No members of any Cabinet Office Public Body receive a salary. Members of the Civil Service Appeal Board receive a fee per daily attendance.
