§ Mr. MilburnNational Health Service employers are legally obliged to provide a safe system of work, a safe working environment, safe premises, adequate training and instructions and information which allows employees to ensure their safety at work. The guidance "Safer working in the Community" launched on the 28 October 1998, contains a great deal of information on how to reduce the risks from violence which community staff, including midwives, may encounter in their work.
