§ Dr. HowellsMy right hon. Friend the Secretary of State has received a number of recent representations about our plans for reforming the student support arrangements. We have been keeping in close touch with interested bodies such as the Committee of Vice Chancellors and Principals, the Student Loans Company, the Inland Revenue, the Local Government Association and the National Union of Students and other student bodies and we have been developing the arrangements in consultation with them.
