§ Mr. ByersOver 6,000 schools have benefited from the first two rounds of the New Deal for Schools programme. There will be further rounds and we expect this programme to result in an extra £2 billion being spent on improving our schools by the end of this Parliament. In addition we will be announcing in June which schools will benefit from the £35 million made available to remove the need for outside toilets and the £15 million for energy enhancement measures which were included in the March Budget.
