Mrs. Dunwoody

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions(a) he and (b) his officials have had with (i) the Department of Environment, Transport and the Regions, (b) Eurotunnel and (c) the French Government regarding Clause 33.3 of the Treaty of Canterbury. [51176]

Mr. Tony Lloyd

There is no Clause 33.3 of the Treaty of Canterbury. My hon. Friend may be referring to Clause 33.3 of the Channel Fixed Link Concession Agreement.

We are not aware of any discussions in recent years between Foreign and Commonwealth Office Ministers or officials and the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, Eurotunnel or the French Government regarding Clause 33.3 of the Concession Agreement, other than in the context of preparing a reply to this question.
