§ Mr. FatchettOur Embassy sent a Diplomatic Note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Ankara on 5 June. The Note pressed the authorities for information on the investigation into Mr. Fernandes' death and the progress of the extradition request for the suspect to be returned from Malta to Turkey. the MFA replied with 397W Diplomatic Notes on 17 and 24 June. They confirmed an investigation was still being conducted and they had not yet received a response from the Maltese authorities. The Turkish authorities informed our Embassy orally on 14 July that a formal extradition request had been handed to the Maltese Embassy in Rome.
