§ Mr. Wilson
I refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave to the hon. Member for Galloway and Upper Nithsdale (Mr. Morgan) on 16 February 1998,Official Report, column 505.
In addition to the sums expended by the Scottish Enterprise Network on the preparation of the site, the East of Scotland Water Authority has spent about £1.5 million on water and sewerage infrastructure related to the Hyundai project.
The upgrading of the M90/A92 Halbeath Interchange—a Design and Build contract valued at £8.4 million which will be opened in March—is designed to relieve congestion and improve traffic flow at the interchange and was included in the Trunk Road programme prior to Hyundai's decision to locate its new semiconductor facility at Dunfermline. The upgrading work was not associated with the Hyundai project.82W
