Capital and related expenditure has been excluded from GSB figures to ensure consistency with the education budget figures, which represent revenue expenditure only.

2 The figures for the GSB and ASB are taken from the LMS budget statements which LEAs are required to submit to the Department under section 122 of the Education Act 1996 (formerly section 42 of the 1988 Act). These do not include expenditure on Grant Maintained Schools budgets which is recouped from LEAs.
