To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what assessment he has made of the future effectiveness of the court-martial system. [26129]

We are satisfied that the recent changes to the court-martial system will ensure its continuing effectiveness into the next millennium. However, we know that we cannot afford to be complacent and the system is kept under constant review to ensure its efficiency.
