§ Mr. SpellarOfficials from my Department recently met with farmers' representatives to explain our procurement policy. We have agreed to establish a joint Working Group with them and our food supply contractor to explore, within the framework of our policy of seeking best market prices, the scope for increasing the percentage of British beef we are able to buy competitively.
