§ Mr. Ron DaviesI am keen to secure a wider field of candidates for public appointments who are representative of all parts of Wales. In particular, I want to encourage more candidates from those groups currently under-represented in public appointments which includes people from ethnic minorities.
Information about the ethnic origin of candidates for appointments is provided in confidence. Whilst I have appointed people from ethnic minority backgrounds to public bodies in Wales it would be a breach of that confidence to disclose the details because the numbers are such that the ethnic origin of individuals could be identified.
