To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what proposals he has to change the level of support available for the after care of people who have retired from the armed services. [21311]

Mr. Soames

Those people who have left the armed forces and their dependants are eligible to receive the full range of services provided by the social security system, the national health service and local authorities. In addition, following representation from the ex-service community, the Government are considering a proposal to establish an ex-service affairs unit.
