Mr. Rowlands

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security (1) how many people lost their(a) invalidity benefit and (b) incapacity benefit in the first year of incapacity benefit in Wales; and how many have lost benefit since; [19055]

(2) how many people have lost their (a) invalidity and (b) incapacity benefit in each benefit district in Wales since the introduction of the incapacity benefit; and what are the estimated savings which have accrued. [19056]

The administration of incapacity benefit is a matter for Peter Mathison, the chief executive of the Benefits Agency. He will write to the hon. Member.
