§ Mr. Sackville[holding answer 18 March 1997]: The Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 was amended in 1991 to remove the right of non-veterinarians to dock dogs' tails. Since July 1993, it has been an offence for a person other than a veterinary surgeon to dock a dog's tail for any reason.
