To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what is his policy towards the use of liquid petroleum gas in cars. [9389]

The Government recognise the potential of road fuel gases for significantly lowering emissions, as was demonstrated by the Chancellor's recent announcement of a freeze on duty on road gas fuels and his undertaking at least to maintain the current duty differential versus diesel for the lifetime of the current Parliament.
