§ Baroness CumberlegeFor the United Kingdom, at the end of December 1996, there were 9,232 adults who had been reported to have died with AIDS, for whom both the date of AIDS diagnosis and the date of death was known. Of these, 2,099 (23 per cent.) survived more than two years after first being diagnosed with AIDS.
