§ Mr. Fisher[holding answer 8 December 1997]: The total construction project budget for the British Library St. Pancras building is £511.1 million. The expenditure committed to date stands at approximately £505.7 million. However, negotiations continue with some contractors on their final accounts and it is not possible, therefore, to estimate the final outturn for the project until all these accounts have been settled.
