HC Deb 28 October 1996 vol 284 c40W
Mr. Tyler

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what steps he is taking to prevent the use of organophosphates in the treatment of head lice among children. [76]

Mr. Horam

Malathion is the only organophosphate authorised for the treatment of head lice. There is no evidence to suggest that malathion is dangerous when used for this purpose. Like all marketed medicines, products containing malathion are continually monitored for safety.
