Mr. Cousins

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will list the members of the board of the Whitehall and Industry Group; and what was the Government's financial contribution to it in 1993–94, 1994–95, 1995–96 and what is proposed for 1996–97. [27346]

The Whitehall and Industry Group has a board of trustees comprising:

  • John Sacher, CBE, chairman of the Whitehall and Industry Group; director of IT, Marks and Spencer plc;
  • Brian Fox, head of senior civil service group, Cabinet Office, Office of Public Service;
  • Geoff Keeys, formerly director of personnel, the Prudential Corporation;
  • Alice Perkins, deputy director—public spending, HM Treasury; and,
  • Richard Power, formerly communications director, Forte.
  • It also has a number of patrons. They are:
  • Sir Robin Butler, GCB CVO, secretary of the cabinet and head of the home civil service;
