§ Mr. HanleyUnder the British aid programme, over £1 million has been committed since 1987 through the joint funding scheme for the development of trade unions. Of this £434,000 was spent in Africa, £263,000 in Asia and £355,000 in the Caribbean. In addition, £200,000 a year has been available since 1995 through the workers' development scheme for projects to promote employee working conditions in developing countries. None of these funds have been committed in Latin America.
