The Home Secretary has asked me, in the absence of the Director General from the office, to reply to your recent Question about the cost per in use certified normal accommodation place in accordance with key performance indicators during the financial year 1994–95 for (a) Blakenhurst, (b) Doncaster, (c) Bullingdon, (d) Holme House and (e) Elmley establishments.The figures are given in the attached table. The figures for public and private sector establishments are not directly comparable. The costs for training, uniforms, equipment, materials, etc are included in costs to private sector establishments but not in those for public sector establishments.
