HC Deb 05 March 1996 vol 273 c196W
Ms Lynne

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department for what reasons no decision was made by his Department in relation to the application for parole by Peter Clowes by the time of the deadline on 20 February. [18323]

Miss Widdecombe

Mr Clowes's case, like many other parole applications, had to be given full and careful consideration on its merits. Every effort was made to complete the various stages of the process by 20 February, but the need for additional information and advice in the final stages meant that a decision could not be reached until two days later.
