§ Mr. WattsThe franchising director has asked specifically for tenders to include proposals for the provision of rolling stock for the full franchise term, including firm proposals for either replacement or life 253W extension of the class 411 rolling stock. The franchising director has also indicated that, where proposals are made for investment in new rolling stock, he will be prepared to consider extending the term of the franchise from the time at which the replacement rolling stock is committed irrevocably.
