Mr. Kilfoyle

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, pursuant to his answer of 1 February,Official Report, column 921, how many of the 66,000 psychiatric hospital beds are in private hospitals; and how many of the 14,000 beds in residential units for mentally ill people are provided (a) by the private sector, (b) by the voluntary sector and (c) by local authorities.
