§ Mr. BellinghamTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when he will publish the indicative allocations to Government offices for the regions in respect of round 3 of the single regeneration budget challenge fund. [25124]
§ Mr. CurryThe indicative regional allocations for the first two years of round 3 of the challenge fund are shown, expressed in terms of bands.
These figures relate to the current total provision for round 3 of £200 million for 1997–98 and 1998–99, with £50 million of this available in 1997– 98. The funding available to each region for new schemes also reflects commitments arising from earlier bidding rounds. The sums available to support approved round 3 schemes in later years are subject to annual public expenditure decisions. The final allocations will depend upon Ministers' decisions on the bids submitted for support in response to the bidding guidance, copies of which are in the Library of the House. Final bids are due to be submitted by 23 September 1996.
