HC Deb 03 April 1996 vol 275 c281W
Mr. Harry Greenway

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the United Kingdom's role as a guarantor power in Cyprus. [22929]

Mr. David Davis

The United Kingdom, along with Greece and Turkey, is a joint guarantor power of the Republic of Cyprus under the 1960 treaty of guarantee. Britain is at the forefront of international efforts to find a solution to the Cyprus problem.
