§ Mr. SoamesIt is the policy of the Ministry of Defence to avoid incurring contingent liabilities wherever possible. Very exceptionally, an indemnity might be given on or in relation to the disposal of a site, as for instance on the disposal of Gruinard island against claims arising from its decontamination.
