To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to publish the code of management practice provided for under the provisions of part I of the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993. [39871]

We plan to lay before the House very shortly an order which approves the Association of Retirement Housing Managers code of practice for leasehold sheltered housing. It will be published by and be available from the Association of Retirement Housing Managers, 50 City Way, Rochester, Kent ME1 2AB.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors has submitted two codes for approval and negotiations on the text are nearing completion.
