To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is the total of overseas aid, excluding EU aid, to be made by his Department in the current financial year; and what were the comparable totals five and 10 years ago. [37869]

In 1995–96 the total planned ODA aid budget excluding EC aid is £1,502 million. In 1990–91 it stood at £1,378 million and in 1987–88 at £1,094 million.
