To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what system his Department has corresponding to MINIS; and what arrangements are made for hon. Members to access it. [39617]

My Department is pursuing the 20 per cent. efficiency gains plan announced by the then Secretary of State to the House on 9 May 1994,Official Report, column 58. My Department is currently working to develop a new resource planning and management system consistent with that envisaged in the efficiency unit report: "Resource Management Systems" and meeting the plans in the White Paper: "Better Accounting for Taxpayers Money" (Cm 1929).

My Department will continue to place an annual transport report before Parliament.
