§ Mr. Norris[holding answer 24 October 1995]: The proposed trial is currently in the final stages of the Safety Regulation Group's approval process.
The trial procedures have been the subject of a full audit by the air traffic services standards and the flight operations departments of SRG. A full safety assessment has been carried out by the CAA's national air traffic services.
§ Mr. MarshallTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport if the reduced final approach separation trial conducted at Heathrow airport earlier this year had been the subject of a full safety audit by the Civil Aviation Authority Safety Regulation Group's air traffic services standards department; if all the pilots involved in the trial were aware of their participation; and what representations he has received from the airlines involved in respect of the trial. All the pilots involved were fully aware of their participation.
