HC Deb 16 October 1995 vol 264 c35W
Mr. Harvey

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what will be the sources of income for the Aberport range under agency status. [36984]

Mr. Arbuthnot

This is s a matter for the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency under its framework document. I have asked the chief executive, to write to the hon. Member.

Letter from John Chisholm to Mr. Nick Harvey, dated 16 October 1995:

Your Parliamentary Question (No 36984) dated 20 July asked the Secretary of State for Defence for the sources of income for the Aberporth range under agency status. Your letter has been passed to me since I am responsible for the day to day running of the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency which now includes the Defence Test and Evaluation Organisation's site at Aberporth.

Under agency status, all but a small percentage of Aberporth's income will come from the MOD. The most important customers are the Armed Services (the RAF are forecast to provide about 54% of Aberporth's income and the RN about 5%) and the next most important is the MOD's Procurement Executive with about 33 per cent.

I hope that this is helpful.
