To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will undertake a review of the workings of the Restrictive Trade Practices Act 1976 as far as retail newsagents are concerned; and if he will make a statement. [2089]

[holding answer 27 November 1995]: The Restrictive Trade Practices Act 1976 is designed to prevent agreements restricting competition and acting against the public interest. I see no reason to treat retail newsagent differently from others.
