asked the Chairman of Committees:

Whether the terms of the new supply and service agreement with HMSO will require to be approved by Parliament.

The Chairman of Committees (Lord Boston of Faversham):

The parties to the agreement are the Corporate Officer of the House of Lords and the Controller and Chief Executive of HMSO. The new agreement will be signed only when approved by the Finance and Staff Sub-Committee of the Offices Committee. The same procedure was followed in connection with the previous agreement signed in 1992.
