To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the Servern Trent Water company's utilities programme for water metering in that part of the Doncaster metropolitan borough council area served by company; and if he will make a statement. [40215]

Mr. Clappison

Severn Trent Water does not supply water in any part of Doncaster metropolitan borough council's area. The company does, however, provide sewerage services, which are not metered, in a small part of the council's area.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the Yorkshire Water company's utilities programme for water metering in that part of the Doncaster metropolitan borough council area served by the company; and if he will make a statement. [40216]

Mr. Clappison

Yorkshire Water has a programme of metering new or substantially converted domestic properties and extending metering to all commercial premises in that part of Doncaster metropolitan borough council's area served by the company. Yorkshire Water also offers a voluntary meter option scheme. This policy applies throughout the area served by the company.
