Mr. John M. TaylorThe Lord Chancellor has considered carefully the responses to his public consultation paper on this subject and is now considering how the regulation, licensing and control of those who enforce judgments of the courts in England and Wales might best be effected so as to ensure that both debtors and creditors receive a proper, efficient and professional service. He is anxious that those parts of the established system which work well should be preserved, and will742W now undertake detailed consultation with the under sheriffs' and sheriffs' officers' associations and other relevant bodies in order to determine how best this might be achieved within a new statutory framework. He will announce the outcome of these deliberations by the end of the year.
