HC Deb 22 June 1995 vol 262 cc413-4W
Mr. Wigley

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how much of the extra money for alleviating the dental crisis in Gwynedd, announced by him earlier this year to the Welsh Grand Committee, has so far been(a) spent and (b) committed; and if he will publish an analysis of such expenditure. [29924]

Mr. Richards

None of the extra £2.5 million has yet been allocated or spent.

All Welsh health authorities, as well as those in Gwynedd, were invited to bring forward proposals to improve dental services in their areas. Those proposals have been considered and discussed in detail at meetings with Welsh Office officials.

An announcement will be made shortly on how the money will be made available.
