§ Mr. BoswellThe Department estimates that total public funding payable through the mandatory awards system in the current academic year for undergraduate college fees at Oxford and Cambridge colleges to be approximately £56,000,000. The Higher Education Funding Council for England takes account of the Oxbridge colleges' fee income in determining the level of grant payable to the universities of Oxford and Cambridge and abates those universities' grants accordingly.
